Many women in Japan started working to keep their families afloat financially. People also had to work longer hours because the war had increased the cost of housing. Because of all of the women joining the workforce it started to change their rights and standing in Japan for the better. Because of this importance of family started to decline and the young people of the community started making choices their parents would normally make for them.
- What were some of the rights the women gained? They gained political, legal, and social freedoms.
- What were some of the jobs the women were getting? They got jobs similar to the jobs women in America got. They mostly did things like making more weapons and vehicles for the war.
- What were some of the choices the young people were able to make? They were able to decide who to marry and similar things like that.
